Age groups

  1. Riverside takes children the September after their 4th birthday and for their first year children are taught in Foundation Stage.
  2. In Years 1 and 2 they are in Key Stage 1.
  3. In Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 they are in Key Stage 2.
  4. Children transfer to secondary schools at the end of Year 6 when they are 11 years old.

Admissions Policy for September 2018 onwards

For entry from September 2018 and all mid-term (in-year) applications, Riverside will be following the Lionheart Academies Trust Admissions Policy in liaison with Leicestershire County Council’s Children and Young People’s Services Admissions Department. You can obtain a copy of the Policy here

Admissions are administered by the County Admissions Service and not the school. Please contact the Admissions Service if you would like your child to come to Riverside. Their website is here

Catchment area

From September 2018 all three Birstall Primary Schools will share a single catchment area. A map of the single catchment area is available to view here.

Appeals
