|Computing||This unit will enable the children to:
Programme using Scratch by using a variety of blocks and commands. Children will plan and design all parts of their educational game around “We are architects”.
|English/Literacy||Identifying the audience for and purpose of the writing, selecting the appropriate form and using other similar writing as models for their own.
Noting and developing initial ideas, drawing on reading and research where necessary.
Selecting appropriate grammar and vocabulary, understanding how such choices can change and enhance meaning in narratives: this involves describing settings, characters and atmosphere and integrating dialogue to convey character and advance the action.
|Geography||Children will use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied.
Children will use fieldwork to observe, measure and record weather temperatures.
They will study Global climate change and possible causes of Global warming.
Develop knowledge of natural disasters and environmental effects these disasters have.
Further their understanding of how we can conserve energy across the country.
