Message from the Headteacher

I would like to warmly welcome you to Riverside Primary School.  Riverside is a hardworking and vibrant school that places its children at the very heart of every decision that is made. We are an ambitious, high-achieving, and diverse school where all children can flourish.  Our curriculum is broad and rich with opportunities, as we are truly dedicated to not only the academic journey of our children but their holistic development. We pride ourselves on fulfilling every child’s potential, instilling ambition, aspirations, and developing self-belief. Our values and ethos centre around our ‘Believe and Achieve’ motto and are firmly built on our 6Rs. At Riverside we want to prepare our children for an ever-changing world and through our robust character education program we build the character muscles that will carry our children throughout their childhood journey and into adulthood.

We are proud to be part of the Lionheart Educational Trust and work very closely with our other trust primary schools; Highcliffe Primary, Brocks Hill Primary, Broom Leys Primary, and Hallam Fields Primary. Together we work tirelessly to ensure that our primary schools provide the highest quality education both academically and holistically.

Our Trust vision of ‘ANY young person from ANY background deserves an EQUAL chance to be successful in whatever they do’ permeates throughout our school. This vision sits alongside the 6Rs; Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Reflection and Reciprocity. We aim to develop self-directed, inquisitive and brave individuals who want to reach their full potential.

We are a happy school where pupils want to work and learn. We are most fortunate in having a talented and hard-working staff that is committed to providing the very best learning experiences for all our pupils. Our children are delightful, and we have very good relationships with parents and carers. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

I hope that you will find our website a valuable resource and that it gives you an insight into our school. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed so that you can observe first-hand how children can grow, be happy in their learning, and experience success.
