Festive activities at Riverside Primary!
Staff and pupils at Riverside Primary have been getting into the festive spirit over the last few weeks.
Children in Years 1 through to 6 designed and made Christmas decorations and had a wonderful afternoon singing Christmas carols to their parents and selling their decorations.
Christmas jumper day took place on Thursday 8th December in support of Save the Children. The children looked amazing when they showed off their Christmas jumpers in the star award assembly.
Our pupils held a Santa dash, participating in a series of sporting activities to promote positive mental health and engaging in physical activity. Pupils searched the playground to find the 11 different cards which included an exercise and a letter to form a secret word. Once they solved the secret word, the children were able to collect their prize!
Finally, pupils and staff collected food items for the Birstall Food Centre to help other families in Birstall who may be struggling at this time of year.
We hope that our pupils, staff and their families have a lovely Christmas break and a happy new year!
